In Sand Blast! (previously named Sandix), players strategically place falling blocks of sand to form complete lines of the same color. Since the blocks are made of sand, they are not static once placed, requiring players to think ahead to anticipate sand flow and maximize their strategy. Quick thinking is crucial, as placing blocks promptly can prevent further sand accumulation in specific areas.
When same-colored sand reaches the left and right borders, it forms a completed line and disappears. The challenge lies in completing as many lines as possible. In survival mode, players can continue until the sand reaches the top, revealing their final score for a chance to beat their own record.
Sand Blast! provides a fresh twist for puzzle game enthusiasts and fans of retro nostalgia. It stands out with unique game mechanics, including a destructible board featuring bombs — white pieces that clear surrounding sand upon collision. Careful placement of bombs can create opportunities for line completion by eliminating obstructing sand of different colors.
